It is of the utmost importance that Duck Duck Books stays true to our passion: our community. In order to fulfill our mission to be the premiere bilingual and diversity-focused boutique publisher of children’s board books, and to help spread a love of language and multiculturalism to the next generation, we remain committed to give back to our BIPOC, multicultural, and traditionally underserved communities in everything we do.
Boyer Children's Clinic is the largest provider of Early Support for Infants & Toddlers (ESIT) services in Seattle, and has been a cornerstone of the community since 1942. They serve nearly 1,200 children and their families annually from two locations, in Montlake and Magnuson Park. Through their high-quality therapy, education, medical and family support programming, Boyer provides families with the resources, tools, and confidence to help their children thrive. In addition, Boyer works to advance their mission of ensuring all children in need of services receive equitable access to them, inclusive of cultural/linguistic diversity, and regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
This past October, we were thrilled to donate several book sets and gift packages for Boyer’s 2021 Inspiring Journeys Auction. In addition to supporting this special event, we remain committed to donating 10% of proceeds from this quarter to Boyer.
“As Boyer approaches its 80th anniversary of serving the community, we are honored to have earned the support of Duck Duck Books,” shares Ellen Kuo, Boyer’s Chief Development Officer. “Their generosity will make a significant difference for so many families, and will also raise awareness about Boyer’s life-changing work. We are proud to celebrate their commitment to enhancing the lives of children with diverse abilities.”
We want to thank Ellen Kuo for helping to facilitate this partnership, and our very own Gloria Wang Shawber, who has had a long-standing relationship with Boyer! To learn more, follow Boyer Children’s Clinic on Instagram and Facebook!
